. . . was originally built in 1876 as a schoolhouse, and caters perfectly for family groups on holiday. The classroom was later transformed into a fabulous sitting room where there is plenty of room for the large numbers of guests the self catering house can accomodate.
Little Loran House was built onto the main house in 1993 and this is a cosy and comfortable self-contained holiday unit with its own separate entrance. Both houses are wonderfully flexible and can offer two or more families a cheerful and relaxed atmosphere in which to holiday.
The house has a large private garden and grounds extending to 5 acres of traditional Argyllshire pasture and light woodland. There is ample parking space on the graveled area at the front of the house. Loran House is only half a mile from the quaint and peaceful village of Lochgair.
Although both houses are self-catering holiday houses, we can nevertheless recommend the Lochgair Hotel, in the village of Lochgair for delicious and excellent meals when you don’t feel like cooking for yourselves. In addition to the Lochgair, there is the Lochfyne Oyster Bar, and the Creggans Inn Hotel, both excellent restaurants.
